Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Do you like Jane Austen novels?

Do you like zombie novels?

Do you like both?

Whether you like one, the other, or both, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is sure to please. We just got  a few copies of the book in at the store today, so if you want a copy, get in touch with us right away to get your copy. They’re going to go fast. And for those of you who are wondering what I’m talking about, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice with a zombie sub-plot added. I wonder what Jane Austen would think of her new co-author Seth Grahame-Smith. And what’s brilliant about this novel is that it retains 85% of the text of the original Pride and Prejudice. The zombie plot only replaced 15% of the original novel’s text.

Genius!

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” – Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

I’ve read rumors that Seth Grahame-Smith’s next book is going to be about the adventures of Abraham Lincoln, the world’s greatest vampire-hunter. The idea is that everything that happened in Abraham Lincoln’s life happened just as we know, with a single addition: he was also the greatest vampire hunter ever.

Other things I thought were funny and/or cool about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies:

  • The subtitle of the book is “The Classic Regency Romance – Now With Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!”
  • This book is one of the finest examples of a “mashup” that I’ve ever seen.
  • Elizabeth Bennet is as concerned with killing zombies as she is with interacting with Mr. Darcy.
  • The cover art is great!

I haven’t read the entire novel yet, but when I do, I’ll post a full review.
