Hotel Transylvania Movie 2011
In a couple of years (in 2011), I’m going to wake up one day and find out that the Hotel Transylvania movie has been released, and I can go down to the movie theater to watch it.
One of the things that would be cool is if this humble website ranked well in the search engines for queries related to that movie. I know the movie is coming up, but I don’t know much about it other than the vaguest of plot summaries. And since it’s coming out in 2011, there’s not even the hint of a trailer to watch or search for yet. (Although a copy of the screenplay might be available online somewhere, I guess.)
Anyway, I’m setting up this blog post to at least get a little bit of traffic over the next few months and especially in 2011 for phrases like “Hotel Transylvania movie”, “review of Hotel Transylvania”, “trailer for Hotel Transylvania”, “spoilers for Hotel Transylvania”, “screenplay for Hotel Transylvania”, and so on.
Here’s what I know so far about the Hotel Transylvania movie:
It’s scheduled (at the time of this writing) to hit movie theaters in September 2011. The plot involves most of the classic Universal horror movie monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and the Mummy) hiding out at a hotel in Transylvania (hence the title). Simon Van Helsing is another major character, and he is, naturally enough, a descendant of THE Van Helsing. But he’s fallen in love with Dracula’s daughter Mavis. Hijinks ensue.
Jill Culton, who directed Open Season, is on board to direct. As far as I know, the movie has no relation to the Chelsea Quinn Yarbro book of the same name. Also, this is going to be an animated film. The picture is being developed by Sony Pictures Animation, and Hotel Transylvania is their next project following Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.
I hope this turns out to be a pretty good movie. My daughters will be 9 years old by then, but I’m sure they’ll still enjoy seeing an occasional cartoon movie with Dad still. God knows they LOVE to go the movies now. They were completely taken with the movie Coraline, which I took them to see in 3D. I’d read them the book beforehand, so they had some idea of what to expect in the movie, but they still liked it a lot.
