New Horror Movie Trailers
A couple of days ago I posted some classic horror movie trailers. Today I’m posting some new horror movie trailers, and I’m providing my predictions as to whether or not each of the movies here will be good or bad. Enjoy.
H2 Trailer – Rob Zombie’s Halloween Sequel Trailer
Rob Zombie’s H2 is coming out on August 28, 2009. We can only pray that it’s not as bad as Rob Zombie’s terrible remake of Halloween, but that’s probably just too much to hope for. I don’t think Malcolm McDowell is good at all as Loomis. I don’t like the idea of Michael without his mask. I’m not sure why Michael needs to be 6’9″. I don’t need to know the reason behind his evil. The attraction of the John Carpenter Halloween was that his evil was unknowable. He’s the boogie man. You don’t get to figure out why he’s the boogie man; if you did, then he wouldn’t BE the boogie man.
I’m predicting that H2 will be a big box office success and that it will be followed by a third movie in this series very quickly. I’m also predicting that the movie will suck.
The Burrowers Trailer
I don’t know if The Burrowers got a theatrical release or not, but it just came to DVD on April 21, and it looks pretty cool to me. It’s a western combined with a horror movie, which is like peanut butter and chocolate to me — two great tastes that taste great together. I’m predicting that this movie will be quite good but won’t make any money.
Laid To Rest Trailer
The villain looks like Michael Myers with a fancy new chrome mask. The main character looks like she’s busty. Looks like a crappy straight to DVD movie to me, but I might give it a shot anyway. Couldn’t be much worse than Rob Zombie’s Halloween, anyway. By the way, this one just became available on DVD.
Thirst Trailer
Thirst is written and directed by Park Chan-wook. If you’ve seen Oldboy, then you know how good he is. This movie is being released on April 30. My prediction? This one’s a masterpiece of cinema and a must-see.
The Devil’s Tomb Trailer
The Devil’s Tomb stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and also features Ron Perlman and Henry Rollins. I loved Henry Rollins in Feast, and I love Ron Perlman in just about everything. So why do I get the feeling that watching this movie is just another episode in the disintegration of Cuba Gooding. Jr’s career? The Devil’s Tomb will be available on DVD on May 26.
