Friends of Eerie Books
Eerie Books was launched by Wylie, Texas businessman Randy Ray as a brick and mortar bookstore in October 2008. The bookstore closed in 2011, but the website remains online as a portal and information resource devoted to horror books and horror movies. Over the last few years, I've befriended a lot of great people online, and I've accumulated some other websites that are also related to the horror genre. On this page, I've included listings for both friends' sites and other sites in the EerieBooks network:
Allison Ray Designs - My wife's site. Some photos of the grand opening are live over there, as well as the announcement about our grand opening.
Allys Goodies - My wife's personal and family site. Lots of pictures of me and the kids here.
Angeline Hawkes - She's a local writer of the macabre. We were as lucky as we could be to have Angeline Hawkes present and doing a signing at our grand opening.
Arkham Horror - An informational site about the board game, Arkham Horror. I have plans to expand the site with information about Fantasy Flight's other games inspired by Lovecraft, Mansions of Madness and Elder Sign.
Best Ghost Sites - Listing the best paranormal, horror, and Halloween sites on the Web.
Best Horror - A blog about the best in horror, with articles about various subgenres and forms that horror takes.
Bloodletting Press - A specialty book publisher whose books we carry. They publish beautiful collectible books like Apocalypse Green by Brian Knight.
Bloody Disgusting - This is one of my favorite sources of news about horror movies.
Cemetery Dance - A specialty publisher of horror fiction. They have their own magazine devoted to horror stories.
Chaosium - The makers of the greatest horror roleplaying game of all time, Call of Cthulhu.
Dark Discoveries - An excellent magazine devoted to horror fiction and writing.
Dark Regions - A small press publisher of excellent horror, science fiction, and fantasy books.
Fangoria - The most famous magazine about horror and horror movies.
Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine - I'm a lifetime subscriber, and you should be too. They don't publish a lot of horror, but some of their dark fantasy qualifies. They've published a lot of short fiction by Stephen King over the years, too.
Fantasy Flight Games - We carry some of their totally cool horror themed games, like Doom, The Boardgame, and Dark Heresy, a futuristic RPG set in the world of Warhammer 40k.
Fearnet - Another good source of horror movie news.
Fulbright & Hawkes - See our notes about Angeline Hawkes above too. This is her collaborative site she operates with Christopher Fulbright.
Graveside Tales - A publisher of great horror fiction like Hawg by Steven Shrewsbury, and the short story collection Fried! Fast Food, Slow Deaths.
Horror DVDs - This is another site in my network, with a very specific focus. (It's about horror dvds, of course.)
Horror Films - A site dedicated to horror films in general, which currently provides an overview of the horror movie genre.
Horror Forum - This is the most awesome and cool website where you can discuss horror online. I participate there under the username Randy. They're a friend of the store's just because I enjoy being a part of the forum.
Horror Stories - This is a horror niche information site focused on the short story. It features lists of horror stories in various genres, and it also recommends various horror story anthologies.
Japanese Horror - Information about Japanese horror movies, which are seeing a surprising amount of popularity in the United States.
Printable Coupons - Articles about where to find printable coupons for various products. One of my other projects.
Randy Ray - My personal website and blog. I hardly ever update it anymore.
Sew Fun Patterns - My wife's sewing patterns website. Nothing scary here, but a cool site and a friend of the store's for sure for sure.
SF Fandom - A collection of science fiction blogs and sci fi forums from Michael Martinez, a friend of mine.
Shock Til You Drop - Another great horror movie news site. Part of the Crave network.
Stephen King - The official website for the greatest living horror writer.
Terror Scribe - A great horror blog from Dallas/Fort Worth writer Joe Lopez.
Xenite - Another great scifi/fantasy resource from Michael Martinez.
