At Eerie Books, we advertise that we carry horror books, horror movies, and horror collectibles. But realistically speaking, to horror collectors, books and movies are also horror collectibles. This page focuses on other types of collectibles that people interested in horror might be interested in learning more about. It focuses on horror collectibles which are not books or movies.

Horror Collectibles - Horror Action Figures

We don't currently have any horror action figures in stock, but we are well aware that some of the most in-demand horror collectibles are horror action figures. Horror collectors can't get enough miniature versions of Freddy, Jason, or Leatherface, and honestly, these action figures do seem a lot cooler than action figures of The Greatest American Hero or the Six Million Dollar Man. Everyone's tastes are different, but people who are into collecting horror action figures are a distinct breed indeed.

Horror Collectibles - Horror Statues

Not only are horror action figures highly collectible, but bigger action figures in the form of statuettes are becoming ever more popular. A company named Mezco has made some wicked cool horror statues including a Freddy statue surrounded by broken toys and a tombstone for Jason Vorhees. Either of these horror statues would be a fine addition to any horror collection.

I've also seen beautiful busts of the underground creatures from the movie Descent and Chop Top, Jason Voorhees, and more. Horror sculptures are way cool in my book.

Horror Collectibles - Rocky Horror Picture Show Collectibles

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been a horror fan phenomenon for over 20 years, so it's only natural that Rocky Horror Picture Show collectibles would also be popular. We don't currently carry any kind of Rocky Horror Picture Show collectible items, but we might at some point in the future, especially if the demand for such is great enough to warrant it.

Horror Collectibles - DVD Boxed Sets

I know I said I wasn't going to mention movies here, but horror dvd boxed sets can be highly collectible. You can find the entire Aliens series in a single boxed set, and I can't imagine any collector being disappointed at receiving a gift like that. There are collectible DVD boxed sets for other horror movies and tv shows too - you can very affordably pick up the entire series of Buffy or Angel on DVD now. More obscure tv shows like Hammer's House of Horror are also available. (We have two brand new copies of Hammer's House of Horror in stock at the store right now.)

Horror Collectibles - Horror Toys

Horror toys aren't limited to action figures and statues. The Hellraiser Lament Configuration box from the movies is available in replica form, and it's a very cool collectible indeed.

Horror Collectibles - Horror Movie Posters

I've collected movie posters since college, but some horror movie posters stand out as being more collectible than others. Some of the horror movie posters I'd recommend collecting include:

The Halloween movie poster. (Not the crappy Rob Zombie remake, but the original poster that reads, "The Night HE Came Home!"
Army of Darkness
The Hills Have Eyes
Dawn of the Dead
Any of the other "Dead" films, except maybe Land of the Dead.

Collecting horror movie posters is a cool and fun thing to do. We carry a book titled 60 Great Horror Movie Posters at the store which can give you plenty more cool ideas, and we have plans to start carrying a limited selection of cool horror movie posters.

Horror Collectibles - Horror Novelties

All kinds of cool horror novelties are also available. I'd consider the replica of the chainsaw that Leatherface uses in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as more of a novelty item than a horror toy even. Same thinking applies to a Freddy Krueger gloves and claws replica. We don't have anything quite that cool in stock yet, but stay tuned. (We'd love to be able to carry a Jason Voorhees hockey mask or two, and we will, as soon as we find a distributor for such an item.)

Horror Collectibles - Halloween Costumes

Halloween costumes could be considered horror collectibles, but I'm of the opinion that the props that accompany the costumes are more collectible than the costumes themselves. We are not a costume shop, so we don't carry any kind of Halloween costumes in the store.
