Horror Games Update February 17, 2009
We got a whole lot of new games in this last month. We now carry the following horror board games:
- Arkham Horror $60 (We also have both expansion sets.)
- Fury of Dracula $60 (A perennially popular game where you get to hunt Dracula - or be Dracula...)
We also carry the new Call of Cthulhu The Card Game, which is a new take on the old collectible card game business model.Call of Cthulhu The Card Game is what's called a living card game, which is similar to a collectible card game, but does'nt require the same investment in new decks in order to stay competitive.
We've also stocked up on quite a few horror and fantasy roleplaying games. We carry the entire Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition line of games, as well as the Buffy andAngel roleplaying games. We also carry the GURPS books, including several of the genre-appropriate gamebooks like GURPS Spirits and GURPS Blood Types.
We're also thinking of hosting a weekly Dungeons and Dragons and/or Call of Cthulhu game. If you're interested in getting in one either of those, send me an email at randyray at gmail dot com.
We do carry horror games at Eerie Books. At the moment, we only offer horror board games and horror roleplaying games, but we plan to offer horror video games soon too. Among some of the horror themed games we carry are:
- Grimm - This one's an RPG set in the dark and twisted world of Grimm's Fairy Tales. Not as blatantly horrific as Call of Cthulhu maybe, but a bit scary nonetheless.
- Call of Cthulhu - This is the grand daddy of horror roleplaying games. We carry the rules and about a dozen supplements for the game, including Unseen Masters, Ramsey Campbell's Goatwood, Dunwich, and others.
- Mutant Chronicles - Again, not traditional horror, but a way cool collectible miniatures game featuring scary looking mutants.
- Descent - Similar to some of the older dungeon-delving boardgames of the past like Dungeon!
- Doom the Boardgame - This horror game is so cool that I don't even have words to describe it.
I also have a single, unopened copy of a vintage TSR game available called Vampyre. The game was released in 1980, and it's in beautiful condition. You should come by and see this classic horror game, even if you don't collect horror games, because it's so cool.
